Client notes

Evidence from properties that changed staffing and rates after our briefings

These notes come from named managers who attended atlas briefings or audit walkthroughs. We include reservations where reports fell short of expectations.

"The corridor maps for ferry arrivals into Yeosu helped us staff the breakfast room on Thursdays instead of guessing. One chart showing Japanese family bookings shifting earlier in spring was worth the subscription alone—though I wish the printed atlas had arrived two days before our board meeting rather than the morning of."

Han Min-jun, General Manager, Odongdo Harbour Inn — commissioned: Quarterly Travel Demand Atlas

"We used the wall chart during the bamboo festival planning session. The predicted Saturday spike matched actual gate counts within eight percent. The brief does not replace talking to hoteliers, but it gave our volunteers a shared number to plan shuttles around."

Soo-jin Park, Director, Jeonnam Coastal DMO — commissioned: Festival Surge Forecast Brief

"Lead-time histograms showed our OTA guests booking farther out than direct website guests—a pattern our front desk had sensed but never measured. The audit took three weeks as promised. Some of the cancellation curve notation was dense for non-analysts on our team."

Thomas Keller, Revenue lead, Suncheon Bay Lodge Group — commissioned: Booking Rhythm Audit

"The monograph on Korean rail pass holders visiting Yeosu clarified which package lengths we should print in our autumn brochure. Park Eunseo answered follow-up questions by email for a week after delivery."

Yuri Nakamura, Tour wholesaler, Fukuoka — commissioned: Inbound Origin Profile Study

"Six small properties pooled funds for a shared regional scope. The atlas chapter on weekday business travel was thinner than we hoped—understandable given data limits—but still useful for our midweek rate decisions."

Eun-hee Choi, Owner, Yeosu Guesthouse Collective — commissioned: Quarterly Travel Demand Atlas

Extended story: Odongdo Harbour Inn breakfast staffing

General Manager Han Min-jun inherited a property where weekend breakfast queues stretched into the lobby despite moderate occupancy percentages. The inn sits fifteen minutes from the main ferry terminal, and front-desk staff had been scheduling kitchen prep using monthly OTA averages.

Our Q2 atlas included a plate comparing Thursday ferry manifest peaks with check-in timestamps. Han shifted one part-time cook from Wednesday mornings to Thursday pre-dawn prep. Queue complaints dropped within six weeks, though Han noted the atlas chapter on weekday business travel was thinner than leisure segments—a gap we flagged in the draft review.

Outcome: measurable reduction in guest complaints; no change to room rates, only labour timing.

Extended story: Bamboo festival shuttle planning

The Jeonnam Coastal DMO coordinates volunteer drivers during Suncheon's bamboo festival. Previous plans relied on gate receipts from the prior year, which missed weather-related walk-up surges.

Soo-jin Park hung our Festival Surge Forecast wall chart in the volunteer tent. Saturday ridership landed within eight percent of the predicted band. Shuttle idle time fell, though Park emphasized the brief does not replace conversations with individual hoteliers about their own checkout patterns.
